I had a deeply traumatic experience with Dr. Chawla Pet Hospital (Jagatpura and Vaishali Nagar branches). My 9-month-old pug initially had a back pain. so we took him to the Jagatpura branch. Initially, no detailed investigation was done, and the treatment was focused on an anal problem. When there was no improvement, an X-ray was finally performed, and we were told that he had mild hip dysplasia. The doctor assured us that it was a minor condition and that our puppy could live a happy life, and medicines were prescribed accordingly. Even after several more days, there was still no improvement. We were then referred to the Vaishali Nagar branch, where the doctors told us that his problem was neuro-based on estimation and prescribed neurological medicines. The very next day, after starting the prescribed medicines, our puppy began having continuous seizures. We immediately rushed him back to the hospital. The doctors advised us to admit him overnight for monitoring and treatment. The most heartbreaking part is that he died during the night, and the hospital did not inform us proactively about his death. We had to call the hospital ourselves, and only then were we informed about our puppy’s condition. As pet parents, we expected timely communication, transparency, and compassionate care during such a critical emergency. He was only 9 months old. We took him to the hospital for a back pain and never imagined that we would lose him forever. This experience has left our family emotionally shattered. I request all pet owners to seek a second opinion for unexplained conditions, ask detailed questions about every medication being prescribed, and ensure that proper communication is maintained throughout the treatment of your pet. Their lives are precious.

I have a wonderful experience with Dr. Chawla & his team . My persian cat’s eye surgery was done amazingly well & with great precision. After taking treatment for almost 2 years from all the major Vet doctors in Jaipur finally, Dr Chawla was able to treat him perfectly.

Please DONT take your pet here. I took my pet dog here a couple of months ago because he fainted earlier that day. Their X ray machine was broken and they were very careless and cruel with my dog, took an hour to take an X ray while my dog was panting and crying and they still weren’t able to take a scan successfully. I had to stop because his tongue turned entirely blue. They said he’s just scared so his tongue is blue and it’s not a big deal. And asked me to bring him for a blood test the next day without treating it despite me and my staff sharing multiple times our concern about the tongue being blue. My dog died a couple of minutes after. Researching after, i found out he was having a cardiac arrest that time which is why his tongue was blue. It was from their sheer lack of knowledge and carelessness. It has taken me months to process and finally be able to share this but as a pet owner I pray no other pet has to go through this and felt compelled to write a review. Please don’t take your pet here.

The female receptionist at Chawla's is everything that someone deployed at a Hospital's reception shouldn't be. I called her during an emergency situation. I was at office when my dog needed urgent help back at home. I just wanted a quick consultation from the doctor over a 10-second phone call so that my dog could get immediate relief. To all this, the receptionist curtly and rudely said, "aapko laana hi padega use hospital warna phone pe bat nahi hogi." This was despite the fact that the doctor was available in the hospital. I called them around 12-12:30 p.m.! Why do they call themselves a hospital at all? If there expectation is that pets will come driving themselves to the hospital to get themselves checked, maybe they need to move to another planet. Disgusting behavior.

I took my dog to this hospital when his condition was already extremely critical. At that stage, what we needed most was clear, honest medical judgment. Instead of telling us directly that his chances of survival were extremely poor and advising us appropriately, we were only told that they “cannot take any guarantee” and that we could continue treatment. This gave us hope without clarity. Had we been clearly informed about the realistic outcome, we would have made different, more informed decisions for our dog. My dog was admitted and remained hospitalised for two days, during which his condition did not improve, and he eventually passed away. I understand that not all lives can be saved, but delayed honesty and lack of decisive guidance in a critical case reflect poor clinical judgment. Additionally, my dog was kept on the top floor in very cold conditions, despite being extremely weak and severely anaemic. What added to our distress was receiving a bill of ₹14,500 for just two days of hospitalisation, without any meaningful improvement in his condition. While we were prepared for expenses, this experience gave the impression that treatment was continued without realistic counselling, showing their money mindedness rather an actual empathy toward the parent.
