The next day, they claimed his creatinine was 4.8 mg/dL (the normal range is 0.5–1.5). They looked me in the eye and told me my "little kid" was in critical condition and needed 10 days of IV drips, which would have cost me 25k–30k. My pet looked perfectly fine, so I followed my gut and got a second opinion. I took him to a family vet on January 25th for a re-test. The result? 0.9 mg/dL. PERFECTLY NORMAL. How is this possible? It is medically impossible for a creatinine level to drop from a fatal 4.8 to a healthy 0.9 in 24 hours without any treatment. Either their lab equipment is dangerously broken, they mixed up the samples, or—more likely—they fabricated the results to extort 30,000 from a worried family. They were willing to put my healthy pet through 10 days of unnecessary, invasive medical procedures just to pad their bank account. Their "explanation" in their email was nothing but excuses.
