I got my dog’s surgery done by this doctor, which cost around ₹16,000. After that, there was a situation where my dog removed his own sutures. For a simple dressing, he charged ₹600, which still felt somewhat acceptable. Later, the plate he had fixed was not done properly and ended up coming out. When I asked about the cost to remove it through surgery, first he said it would be ₹1,000. We agreed. Then later he said ₹3,000. We still agreed. Then one day when I called him on the phone to confirm the date, he said it would be ₹5,000. After 2–3 days, when I called him again on the phone to finalize the surgery for Sunday, he said ₹6,000. What kind of behavior is this? Increasing the amount every single day? When I questioned this over the phone, he told me, “Then get it done somewhere else.” I said fine, I will. After that, he made 4–5 phone calls to me, but I didn’t answer because I didn’t want to waste my time. Honestly, it was good that he told me to go somewhere else. I went to a professional doctor with a very hygienic setup and a good team of assistants. Do you want to know the exact cost? The surgery was only ₹3,000, and medicines cost ₹800. Total cost: ₹4,000 for surgery, X-ray, blood test, and medication. Also, I know that if the surgery had been performed by him, he would have charged around ₹6,000. X-ray and blood tests outside would have cost me around ₹1,500, and medications would surely be more than ₹1,500. So the total would have been around ₹9,000. Because of his tone and behavior, I ended up saving around ₹5,000. Thank you so much for advising me to go somewhere else. And his behavior is not acceptable. Also, his clinic is not properly hygienic. Shame on such doctors. He knew the dog is blind and a street dog, and even after I had already spent so much on treatment with him, he still had no hesitation in increasing charges by ₹1,000–₹2,000 every time. Please stay away from such doctors.
