I visited Vetic only because it was a Sunday and my regular veterinarian was unavailable. My dog was experiencing recurrent nosebleeds with a critically low platelet count, so we had no option but to seek emergency care. The doctors attended to my dog promptly and started treatment immediately. For that, I am thankful. However, the overall experience outside the consultation was deeply disappointing. From the moment we entered, there seemed to be a strong emphasis on selling membership and grooming packages, even though we were there for an emergency. It felt inappropriate given the circumstances. The front desk and reception staff appeared poorly informed. When I asked for an itemized estimate before proceeding, they were unable to explain the charges or even understand what an itemized bill meant. We were simply told that we would receive the bill only after payment. For an emergency hospital charging premium prices, this level of billing transparency is unacceptable. The pricing structure itself felt opaque and difficult to understand. Costs accumulated rapidly through multiple administration and procedural charges, making it hard to know exactly what we were paying for until the end. Although the doctors explained that an advanced tick panel costing around ₹7,900 was optional, presenting such an expensive investigation during an already stressful emergency places families under tremendous pressure. Another major concern is that Vetic advertises emergency services but did not have admission facilities available for my dog, despite her having severe thrombocytopenia and active bleeding. After stabilizing her, we had to take her home and continue searching for another hospital if she required admission. That defeats an important purpose of an emergency facility. My criticism is not directed at the veterinarians who treated my dog. It is directed at the business model, the billing transparency, the upselling approach during emergencies, and the lack of adequately trained front-desk staff. Pet owners who arrive scared and vulnerable deserve clear communication, transparent pricing, and administrative staff who can confidently explain what they are being charged for. I sincerely hope Vetic improves its customer service, billing transparency, and emergency infrastructure. People come to an emergency veterinary hospital because they have no other choice, not because they want to be sold memberships or left confused about costs.
